Sports Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation after a sports injury focuses on recovering from sports injuries and preventing new injuries. The goal is to heal the injury, restore strength and mobility, and ensure that you can safely and effectively participate in your sport again.

What is it

You can attend sports rehabilitation after an injury that came about while playing your sport. We treat a muscle strain, muscle tear, ankle sprain, joint instability, overuse injuries, among others. The sports rehabilitation trajectory is part of the orthopedic rehabilitation program.

Trajectory

During your consultation with the physical physician, he or she will refer you to our occupational and physiotherapists. The exercise room in our rehabilitation center is equipped with modern equipment and there is also the possibility to train in our therapy garden.

Your injury is always looked at in the bigger picture. Based on a screening, certain muscle weaknesses, coordination and/or postural problems are analyzed. This screening is performed using the examinations listed below:

Bikefitting

Gait analysis

Isokinetic testing

Rehabilitation

We work out an exercise schedule tailored to your situation and needs. Together we will train your motor control, strength and endurance. Finally, we will look at how best to approach a possible return to sport.

You get sport-specific exercises in a build-up schedule. We will also pay attention to avoiding future injuries. You will be given exercises to do at home during rehabilitation.

In some cases it can help to train on an anti-gravity treadmill. This allows you to keep moving without overloading your joints.
